New harmonisation working groups launched by the JOIN Italian member

Lignano, Italy, 02. September 2017

On the 2nd of September, the General Assembly of Soccorso dell’Ordine di San Giovanni (SOGIT), the Italian JOIN member, took place in Lignano. The meeting was headed by national president prof. Graziella Kainich. It was in this setting that the newly formed “harmonisation working group” launched its work. At the 2017 Annual General Assembly of JOIN in Berlin, two Italian representatives, Dr. Sarah Vecchione and Davide Laetzsch, presented their intentions to form such a group, and they took with them home many instruments that could help to pave the way towards new unified standards for SOGIT in Italy.

“The first goal of the SOGIT harmonisation working group will be a unique training procedure. From the simplest action we will start rebuilding SOGIT’s future” said Davide Laetzsch, one of the SOGIT members standing behind the new initiative. “Other fields of discussion will be our new logo, unique and recognizable as part of the JOIN team, the institution of a uniform standard for all our 1,300 volunteers and the adoption of a common IT infrastructure starting from a single mail domain,” continued Mr. Laetzsch. The ‘harmonisation working group’ will meet both online and face to face.

The JOIN Office is very happy to see this motion to create a new structure and better cooperation inside of our Italian member. We also believe that such a step can bring SOGIT even deeper into the core of the JOIN family and that this is only a first step towards many new project and initiatives. We keep our fingers crossed for all involved!
