The project aims to improve the health and nutrition conditions as well as the response capacities of IDPs and Venezuelan refugees, including health campaigns with vaccinations, parasite treatment and treatment of malnutrition. Additionally, trainings of Community Health Workers (CHWs), distribution of water filters and food packages, animal-assisted psychosocial treatment, mine victim education and orthopaedic treatment will be carried out, as well as the establishment of house gardens to improve food security.

Meanwhile, a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) started in the province of Sucumbíos in Ecuador, carried out together with the local partner organisation Federación de Mujeres de Sucumbíos (FMS). The project will be implemented during 36 months and it has a financial volume of 650,000 EUR. The aim of the project is to provide sustainable access to adequate health care services and to improve the social and political participation of marginalised women in the targeted province.

Some of the project components are training of promoters in the field of health and intra-familiar / gender-based violence, education and awareness of community members regarding rights and access to health with a focus on gender and inter-culturalism. At the beginning of both projects, kick-off training will take place in order to train both partners in the existing donor requirements and policies.
