On 17 June, The Johanniter Order held its yearly ‘Ritterschlag’ (‘Knights Accolade’ in English) in the All Saints' Church of Wittenberg. This is a notable exception as the Ritterschlag always took place either in Sonnenburg or in Nieder-Weisel in the last 300 years.

Guests from the whole St John family came from Austria, England, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA.

The Herrenmeister of the Johanniter Order HRH Dr. Oskar Prince of Prussia appointed Thilo v. Selchow as ruling Commander. Marc-Aurel v. Dewitz, Richard Graf zu Eulenburg and Bernd v. Harnier were appointed honorary Commanders. Frank Böker, Chairman of the Board of Johanniter GmgH, received the Honor Knights Cross.
