SJEHG have been leading the cause for preventable blindness in Palestine since 1882, when our JOIN member was established in Jerusalem at the request of Queen Victoria. Little has changed in the next 136 years. Preventable eye conditions continue to be a scourge on the local population. People are ten times more likely to be blinded in Palestine in 2018 than in the United Kingdom or elsewhere in the West.

Partnerships are key for any forward-thinking eye care provider. SJEHG enjoys relationships with a variety of organisations, who offer joint services as well as vital funding. Learning and developing alongside each other is the only way to succeed in the pursuit of the ultimate goal – to end preventable blindness worldwide.
