The conflict between the Israeli State and the Palestinian Authorities has been affecting the daily life of the people living in those areas for more than 60 years.
Whereas the people in Gaza (approx. 1.5 Million people) can move freely inside their territory (although difficult to access for external people), is the area of the West Bank (2.4 Mio people) enclosed by the controversial wall and interspersed by numerous checkpoints. The negative consequences affect mainly the elders, the women and the children, when trying to reach public health facilities. The facilities are moreover confronted with major problems, lacking medical equipment and/or medicines.
The political climate in the region in the last years has led to a steady decrease in living and working conditions and poor medical provision for the residents in both Westbank and Gaza.
