Founded in 1974, Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in Austria provides rescue, transport and medical services with its ambulances and realises first aid trainings. Civil protection, services for people with disabilities, palliative care, youth work and first aid at public events also belong to its core competences. Over 944 employed staff, almost 558 volunteers and 173 community servants ensure that in four Austrian regions people receive the assistance they need.

The volunteer will participate in the first aid service on ski piste, at Carinthia, Turracher Höhe, provided for skiing tourists.  

JOIN Volunteers learn about the Johanniter services in an alpine area and support the first aider during their service. In addition, participation in ambulance service can be offered.

The volunteer will participate in the ambulance service provided for the Music event “Wenn di Musi spielt” in Bad Klein Kirchheim, Carinthia. About 15,000 visitors are expected. Johanniter provides the ambulance and first aid services during the performances.
JOIN Volunteers learn about the Johanniter ambulance service provided for big events and get involved in the Carinthian ambulance system in a rural area.

The volunteer will participate in the ambulance service provided for big events in the city of Vienna. The events at the National Holiday at Heldenplatz and Rathausplatz in the very center of Vienna provide presentations of the Austrian Army and a broad variety of institutions involved in security, disaster prevention and health services. About 100,000 visitors regularly participate in the events. 

Johanniter provide the most ambulance resources together with Malteser, Red Cross and Samaritans. 

JOIN volunteers learn about the Johanniter ambulance service provided for big events and get involved in Vienna´s health and care system.

The volunteer will participate in the acute care service of Johanniter in Vienna and be part of a (employed or volunteer) team of care and ambulance staff in a patient transport car. The team provides both patient transport and acute care situations with a broad variety of care situations. The volunteer will assist and support the team. 

He or she can learn about this specific service and get involved in Vienna´s health and care system.

Participate in the Mobile care service in Tyrol, support and assist the care team.

The volunteer will participate in the Mobile care service of Johanniter in Tyrol and support employed care staff. The volunteer will assist and support the mobile care service (not stationary) for elderly and ill persons. The volunteer will learn about the care system in Tyrol and get involved in Tyrol health and care system in the city of Innsbruck.
