St John’s aid society in Switzerland

St John’s aid society (SJAS) has its roots in the social and welfare mission of the order of St. John. The SJAS in Switzerland was founded as SJAS Basle on February 10th 1998 by members and friends of the Swiss commandery of the Order of St. John and since December 2015 it is a section of the Swiss SJRS. The SJAS in Switzerland is a legal person according to Article 60 of the Civil Code, and it is recognised as a charitable non-profit organisation.

The SJAS provides practical and financial assistance for the sick, the disabled, prisoners and others in need. It is there to provide support where there are gaps in the social network. The voluntary work of its members and active community members allows for spontaneous and direct assistance to those in need.
