Some of our JOIN members are very active at the European level. Sometimes as coordinators of various projects and other times as consortium members. We at the JOIN Office aim to encourage international cooperation among our members, but also with actors outside of our JOIN family. It is for this reason that we actively suggest ways in which our members can be of value in the global arena by providing their extensive knowledge and experience in various fields, such as humanitarian assistance and developmental cooperation, elderly care and active ageing, prevention of infectious diseases, health management, refugee assistance, dementia and other age related diseases, emergency medical services, rescue services and first aid.
As a networking hub for our members, we also actively participate, in collaboration with our members, in EU projects as a consortium partner. From 2015-17 we were involved in an AAL (Active and Assisted Living) project on active aging called SOCIALCARE. For this EU funded project, the JOIN Office and Johanniter Austria were part of a consortium of 8 partners from 4 different EU countries.
