Civil protection exercise between our Austrian and Hungarian members

Budapest, Hungary, 16. July 2018

In early July, a rescue dog unit and a paramedic team of Johanniter Austria participated in a civil defence exercise near Budapest together with Johannita Segitö Szolgálat. The rescue dogs had to search for missing persons in a collapsed factory building. Injured people were then took over by the medical staff.

In the afternoon, an explosion was staged on a football field with a large number of seriously injured persons. Thanks to the good cooperation between our JOIN members, all injured people could be rescued and well looked after.

“Taking part in an international exercise is always something special and our teams were able to gain great insights into the work of our colleagues from Hungary!” said Hannes Pfaller, main inspection officer for our Austrian JOIN member.
