As part of his official visit to Israel in the last week of June, HRH the Duke of Cambridge also came to the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group on 28 June. Our JOIN member was honoured to welcome Prince William at the Muristan Clinic. He was received by the first Palestinian CEOs and the Chairman, marking another highlight in the rich history the hospital shares with the Royal Family.

The clinic had delved back into its archives to find a beautiful picture of Prince William’s grandfather, HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh, on a visit to the Jerusalem Hospital in 1968.

The visit of Prince William was very much appreciated and St John Trustee Dr Maged Abu Ramadan after speaking with HRH the Duke of Cambridge, stated:

"The misery in Gaza is a feeling of being abandoned. To have a member of the royal family remember us and tell us 'you are not left alone' is very important."
