Mayflower 400 - Mayflower Muster, Plymouth

The Project

The year 2020 marks the 400th anniversary of the historic voyage of the Mayflower ship from the UK to the ‘New World’ of America. The anniversary will commemorate the legacy of the passengers and crew who undertook the epic journey inspired by an unquenchable desire for freedom, and for whom the voyage promised newfound liberty.

The event marks the very date the Mayflower sailed from Plymouth on 16 September, heralding an amazing week of activity. This will include activities during the week following, culminating in the ’Mayflower Muster’ on 19 and 20 September celebrating Plymouth's heritage as one of the world's foremost naval bases - with a heritage dating back to 1691. In partnership with the US and Dutch Armed Forces, a spectacular festival including live displays, interactive demonstrations and a host of other activity will take place over two days.
