European KnowEMS project holds first webinar
The first webinar of the KnowEMS project took place on 7 May and marked the beginning of the project to create a pan-European network of rescue services and to network with other civil protection actors.
The first webinar of the KnowEMS project was held on 7 May. This meeting, which brought together speakers from Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Romania and Israel, was the "kick-off" of this project which aims to create a pan-European network of emergency medical service providers, connect this network to other Civil Protection actors and create opportunities for exchange, sharing and learning between them.
It was through the Zoom platform that several European institutions came together to talk about medical emergencies, how they are organised in some countries and also to talk about practical cases, such as the intervention of Madrid's SAMUR in the terrorist attacks at Atocha station on 11 March 2004, or how the rescue was organised in the attack at the Bataclan in Paris in November 2015. Sharing these realities and practical cases provides an insight into different types of organisations and approaches to pre-hospital medical emergency scenarios, and is an excellent opportunity to increase knowledge. The recording of this webinar will be made available shortly and preparations are already underway for the next meeting, which is expected to take place at the beginning of June.
