Strengthening the resilience of communities
The project strengthens the resilience of internally displaced persons, host communities, and local structures to conflicts and climate- and poverty-related crises in the states of Karen and Rakhine. This includes measures to improve living conditions, promote social cohesion, and strengthen local capacities to better cope with shocks and crises. The project takes an inclusive approach that encompasses both humanitarian aid and long-term development measures. The project will run until April 2028.
Examples of measures:
- Strengthening local disaster preparedness and emergency response mechanisms
- Promoting income opportunities and livelihoods
- Measures to improve food security
- Access to medical care and psychosocial support
- Activities to promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence
- Establishing and strengthening local networks and structures
