Climate Change

In our Strategy 2027, we have identified climate change as one of the central topics of our programs and projects. Extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, droughts, water shortages, and extreme heat are occurring more frequently. These environmental challenges threaten the livelihoods of the communities where we operate. That is why we systematically integrate measures for adapting to climate change into our work.

One key measure is disaster preparedness. Through this, communities, systems, or organizations strengthen their ability to anticipate potential emergencies or crises, prepare for them, and mitigate their impacts. Examples: early warning systems, disaster preparedness training, emergency planning, pre-positioning of relief supplies, climate adaptation measures, simulation exercises, readiness to increase staffing levels. It is equally important to us to teach people how they can grow a diverse range of healthy fruits and vegetables in a sustainable manner without the use of chemicals, despite the impacts of climate change, so that they can feed their families and generate their own income by selling surplus crops.
