Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine Waldkrankenhaus

The Ward of Anaesthesia at the Waldkrankenhaus oversees 8 operating theatres daily, in which about 8,500 operations are performed annually, in collaboration with the Ward of Internal Medicine; the interdisciplinary intensive care unit of the hospital.

The head physician of this clinic simultaneously assumes the function of the physician responsible for transfusions at both hospitals and manager of the hospital’s blood depot. He is authorised to provide 48 months of further training for becoming a specialist in anaesthesia and 18 months of training to obtain the additional title of a practitioner of "intensive care medicine".

Within the framework of the joint further training program offered at the Ward of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine of the Johanniter-Krankenhaus, there is full authorisation for further training as a specialist in anaesthesia, and for obtaining the additional title of a practitioner of "intensive care medicine".
