At the Emergency Centre at Waldkrankenhaus Bonn, we provide rapid assessment and treatment for acute illnesses, injuries and medical emergencies of all kinds, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our experienced team offers prompt medical care for a wide range of conditions, including fractures, sports injuries, severe back, head or hip pain, internal medicine emergencies and acute ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions.

When Should You Visit Our Emergency Centre?

Many acute medical conditions require prompt assessment but are not immediately life-threatening emergencies requiring an ambulance.

At our Emergency Centre, we provide care for a wide range of urgent health concerns. We also work closely with the Bonn Bad Godesberg/Wachtberg Out-of-Hours Medical Practice/ Notfallpraxis Bonn Bad Godesberg/Wachtberg e. V. and share a central reception area, allowing patients to be directed quickly to the most appropriate service.

Our Services

Acute Internal Medicine Conditions

Examples include:

  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness, faintness or circulatory problems
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Persistent fever
  • Persistent vomiting

ENT Emergencies

Examples include:

  • Severe ear pain or middle ear infection
  • Sudden hearing loss
  • Persistent heavy nosebleeds lasting longer than 20 minutes
  • Severe sore throat with difficulty swallowing
  • Swelling of the neck or throat
  • Injuries to the nose, throat or ears
  • Dizziness

Accidents, Fractures and Sports Injuries

Examples include:

  • Suspected fractures
  • Sprained or swollen joints
  • Severe pain following a fall or accident
  • Ligament injuries
  • Sports injuries such as muscle strains or muscle tears

Urological Emergencies

Examples include:

  • Severe lower abdominal, pelvic or back pain
  • Difficulty passing urine
  • Sudden urinary retention (inability to empty the bladder)
  • Visible blood in the urine

Spinal Conditions

Examples include:

  • Severe headaches or back pain, including suspected slipped disc (disc prolapse)
  • Numbness in the arms, legs or hands
  • Tingling, weakness or signs of paralysis

Work-Related Accidents

Following a workplace accident or an accident while travelling to or from work, it is important to seek medical assessment promptly. At our Emergency Centre in Bonn-Bad Godesberg, we provide rapid assessment and treatment for work-related injuries. Treatment is carried out by a doctor specially authorised within the German statutory accident insurance system to assess and treat occupational injuries and accidents.

You should seek medical assessment if you experience:

  • Significant pain or swelling
  • A suspected fracture or injury
  • Ongoing symptoms following an accident

Important Information: Inform your employer as soon as possible. Let us know that the injury is work-related when you arrive. Treatment costs are generally covered by the relevant accident insurance provider.
