Impact as a key metric
Safeguarding lives, creating opportunitiesOur goal is to ensure that our projects have the greatest possible impact on the people we support. Together with our local partners, we aim to ensure the survival of people in crisis and disaster situations and to preserve or restore their health and their means of livelihood.
We work in accordance with international humanitarian aid standards and ensure the quality of our work from planning through data collection to analysis. Each project cycle brings us new experiences from which we learn. The impact of our activities is primarily reflected in the indicators we use to measure change. However, it is also evident in the personal stories we receive from the communities where we work.
Resilience for people in times of war
Ukraine
Through this project, we supported vulnerable groups affected by the war. Their living conditions were improved through repairs and the delivery of heating materials. Access to clean water was ensured, food was distributed, and the people’s psychosocial well-being was supported.

Sport builds confidence
Ecuador
Rugby for mental health—our project in Ecuador shows that it can work. 350 children and teenagers train together regularly and participate in tournaments. They come from difficult backgrounds, have few prospects, and experience violence. Rugby gives them new self-confidence, opens the door to support services, and shows them that it’s worth putting in the effort. Psychologists and coaches work together specifically toward this goal.
Our little boy has completely changed. He came back from practice full of energy, as if he were ready to take on the world. This project makes our son’s eyes light up. We are very grateful for that.
Access to healthcare
Mozambique
In Mozambique, we have worked to improve health care for people who otherwise have little access to it. We have equipped health facilities, supplied medical supplies, and used mobile teams to reach people in remote areas. Training sessions and information campaigns on diseases and hygiene measures were also part of our efforts.

New opportunities through self-generated income
Syria
In this project, people affected by the 2023 earthquake in northwestern Syria were given new opportunities to earn their own income. Youth and young adults were trained for future-oriented jobs in the fields of robotics, 3D, and AI. For disadvantaged population groups, employment opportunities were created that provided an income while also serving the community. Participants cleaned streets and painted schools and houses. 200 teenagers and young adults received training, internships, and were placed in freelance jobs in the digital sector. For 70% of them, the initiative improved their prospects on the job market.

Emergency relief after the earthquake
Myanmar
Following the devastating earthquake in the Mandalay region of Myanmar in March 2025, we deployed mobile teams to provide medical assistance to the affected population. Our short-term goals: providing life-saving care to the injured and affected, ensuring the safety of pregnant women, treating the chronically ill, preventing epidemic outbreaks through surveillance, and reducing health risks related to infection and hygiene. Our medium-term goals: Restoring a minimum level of health services in isolated communities; increasing local response capacity through training and the provision of equipment and medications.
