Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe

Johanniter in Germany

Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe is one of Germany's largest aid organisations, providing emergency, health and social services to people in need across the country.

Founded in 1952, Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe (JUH) is one of Germany's largest non-governmental aid organisations. Guided by Christian values, Johanniter supports people in need regardless of their religion, nationality or background. Today, more than 35,000 staff, 44,000 volunteers and over 1.1 million supporting members contribute to its work.

Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in Germany is active in emergency rescue and medical services, as well as in disaster response. In first-aid courses, they teach people how to help others in an emergency. Johanniter cares for the sick, supports children and adolescents, assists older people, and advocates for refugees in Germany. Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe is part of the wider Johanniter family and is affiliated with the Order of St John (Bailiwick of Brandenburg), continuing a tradition of charitable service that dates back more than 900 years.
