EU CP Projects
This department is specialized in the management of a variety of research and development projects as well as service contracts under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) and the Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network. Its tasks include the participation in and management of projects aimed at improving disaster preparedness, response and recovery. To do so, the department coordinates and cooperates with numerous stakeholders from a large number of EU Member and UCPM Participating States.

- Short Description:
Based on the positive experience of the European Modular Field Hospital (EUMFH) project conducted in 2017 & 2018, rescEU EMT is building up on its outcomes by developing twenty-one new medical and non-medical response capacities that can either be deployed on their own or flexibly combined to form a joint pan-European field hospital, corresponding to an EMT type 3 according to the WHO EMT Initiative.
To carry out this large and complex project successfully, eight EU Member and UCPM Participating States, the European Commission, WHO, associated partners and sub-contractors work together in close collaboration and with comprehensive, joint efforts. - Project Partners and Sub-Contractors:

International Disaster Response
The department is responsible for Johanniter's international disaster response units. All units are mainly staffed by volunteers.
