What it is about:

In the project's target regions, people with disabilities are often denied access to education and health services due to a lack of inclusive services. In addition, national policies to combat GBV do not take into account the concerns of people with disabilities. The project contributes to anchoring the fundamental rights of these people in Colombia at the national level and aims to ensure that inclusive services for people with disabilities are available and also used by the target group both at the local and regional (Colombia/Venezuela) as well as at the national level (Colombia). In this context, the rights of the target group in the areas of health, education and social participation are strengthened in particular.

Examples of measures:

Awareness raising and training on sexual and reproductive health rights.

Implementation of the community-based rehabilitation programme

Training for health and education professionals

Psychosocial support for carers of persons with disabilities
