Lidingöloppet cross-country race

The Project

Johanniterhjälpen will provide first aid, including automatic external defibrillators (AED) to the runners and spectators of the 55th Lidingöloppet, a 30 kilometre cross-country running event with approximately 60 000 participants every year. 

Lidingö is situated six km from the center of Stockholm and the event is on Saturday leaving Sunday free to explore the city. More information about the event available here.

The Volunteer

The volunteer will participate together with a Swedish Johanniterhjälpen volunteer and will notably learn about Johanniterhjälpen’s mobile phone-based First Aid initiative 'Johanniterhjälparna'.


Lidingö/Stockholm, Sweden.


On 26th September 2020.

Volunteers will have to arrive on Friday 25th September.

The race event is on Saturday 26th, leaving Sunday free to explore Stockholm city or the beautiful Lidingö area. 

Who can apply?

All St John volunteers aged over 18.

Qualification in First Aid required.

Languages: English or Swedish.

Medical Qualification: Paramedic or First Responder

Other important information

Apart from lunch during the event, food and accommodation will not be provided.

Insurance falls under the responsibility of the volunteer.
